Privacy Policy

Egregium Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), for the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as the "Service"), has established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") regarding the handling of personal information of users.

Article 1 (Personal Information)
 "Personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Personal Information Protection Act, and is information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other descriptions contained in such information, as well as data related to appearance, fingerprints, and voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual from such information alone, such as the health insurance card number (personal identification information). 

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

The Company may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, etc. when the user registers for the Company's Services. In addition, the Company may collect information, including users' personal information, concerning transactions and payments made between users and our business partners (including information providers, advertisers, advertising distribution destinations, etc., hereinafter referred to as "Partners") from these Partners. 

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information) 

The purpose for which we collect and use personal information is as follows. 

  1. To provide and operate the Company's services 

  2. To respond to inquiries from users (including verifying their identity) 

  3. To send e-mails about new features, updates, campaigns, etc. of the Services that users are using, as well as other services provided by the Company. 

  4. To contact users as necessary, such as regarding maintenance and for important notices. 

  5. To identify users who violate the Terms of Use or users who attempt to use the Services for unauthorized or unfair purposes, and to deny such use to them. 

  6. To allow users to view, change, or delete their registration information, and view their usage status. 

  7. To charge users for usage fees for paid services. 

  8. For purposes incidental to the above purposes of use

Article 4 (Change of Purpose of Use)

  1. The Company shall change the purpose of use of personal information only if it is reasonably recognized that the purpose of use is related to the one before the change.

  2. In the event of a change in the purpose of use, the Company shall notify the user of the changed purpose by the method prescribed by the Company or announce it on this website.

 

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

  1. The Company will not provide personal information to a third party without obtaining the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases. However, this does not apply to cases permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.

    1. When it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person concerned.

    2. When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the healthy development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person concerned.

    3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or a person entrusted by them in carrying out affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the person concerned is likely to interfere with the execution of such affairs.

    4. When the following matters are publicaly announced or informed in advance, and the Company notifies the Personal Information Protection Commission:

      1. That the purpose of use includes the provision to third parties 

      2. Data items provided to third parties 

      3. Means or method of provision to third parties

      4. Suspension of provision of personal information to third parties upon  request by the individual

      5. Method of acceptance of such individual's request

  2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the recipient of the information shall not be deemed a third party in the following cases: 

    1. When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use.

    2. When personal information is provided in connection with business succession due to a merger or other reason.

    3. When an individual's personal information is jointly used with a specified entity, the individual is notified in advance, or such fact is made readily accessible to the individual, of the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the joint use, the purpose of this use, and the name or designation of the entity responsible for managing the personal information. 

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

  1. When the Company is requested to disclose an individual's personal information by that individual, the Company will disclose it to the individual without delay. However, if any of the following apply, the Company may not disclose all or part of it, and if it decides not to disclose, the Company will notify the requester of this decision without delay. When disclosing personal information, a fee of 1,000 yen per case will be charged.

    1. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the person or a third party.

    2. When there is a risk of significant interference with the proper execution of the Company's business.

    3. Other cases that violate laws and regulationsNotwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as history information and characteristic information, will not be disclosed in principle.

Article 7 (Amendment of Personal Information)

  1. If the personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user can request that such personal information be corrected, added, or deleted (hereinafter referred to as "Amendment") in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company.

  2. If the Company determines that it is necessary to take action in response to a request from a user in the preceding paragraph, the Company shall correct the personal information without delay.

  3. The Company will notify the user without delay if it makes an Amendment based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or if it decides not to make such an Amendment.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)

  1. The Company may suspend or delete the use of personal information (hereinafter referred to as "Suspension of Use") on the grounds that the personal information is being used for a purpose other than that for which it was intended or that it was obtained by illegal means. If requested, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.

  2. If the Company determines that it is necessary to  act in response to the request based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, it will suspend the use of the personal information without delay.

  3. The Company will notify the user without delay if the Company performs a Suspension of Use in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or decides not to perform a Suspension of Use.

  4. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if there is a large amount of cost for the Suspension of Use, or if it is difficult to perform a Suspension of Use, and alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the user can be taken, such alternative measures may be taken.

Article 9 (Changes to Privacy Policy)

  1. The contents of this policy may be changed without notice to the user, except for matters otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations or other matters otherwise stipulated in this policy.

  2. Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
